IN Learning Lab
The resources to the right have been created for educational leaders to support their staff with the new IDOE professional development online platform, www.INLearningLab.com. Any information can be copied/edited to your own letterhead - it is for YOU!

       ILEARN Support
Practice Tests for ILEARN - Grewe abbreviated directions to share with TAs.

Administrator Checklist -Support for administrators before, during, and after ILEARN.

ELA PT:  Prompt Examples - Staff and students receive clarity on what is/is not a quality response. Organized by genre and grade level, see the spectrum of responses to the same prompt, along with annotated rubrics to understand the scoring. A great teaching tool.

      ILEARN Web Sites
NIESC and NWIESC have 2 ILEARN websites dedicated to supporting our members.

Both sites will continue to grow as we work to create a one-stop shop with information to support educators before, during, and after the test.

Note the tabs at the top to change focus areas.

 Curriculum and ILEARN
Two virtual 3-hour trainings focused on ILEARN clarity and resources are coming in March.

Participants will receive a large number of resources as they learn about computer-adaptive tests, difficulty VS DOK, IDOE resources that support the curriculum and lead to ILEARN success, the ins and outs of the portal, and most importantly, how all the resources connect.

Science of Reading
In response to the IDOE Science of Reading Initiative, several OnDemend events have been created by the state’s Educational Service Centers, hosted on Keep Indiana Learning. In addition to the videos, a Reading Summit is planned for June 9, 2022.

High Ability Educators’ Network
February was an exciting start to our statewide High Ability Network! In March, we plan to build a database of resources. Come prepared to share resources you use with high-ability learners, and we will work in breakout rooms to create a High Ability Resource Repository to share across the network. This could include websites, lesson ideas, names in high ability, resources, books, etc. We will also be joined by Jason Callahan, Assistant Secretary of Student Pathways and Opportunities, and Flora Jones, Director of Student Pathways, at IDOE as they share about Indiana’s Graduates Prepared to Succeed (GPS).

Be sure to mark your calendar for the second Tuesday of the month at 3 p.m. EST because we have been busy planning for you. Dr. Donna Albrecht will join us in April to speak about HA – EL Services & Supports, and Dr. Lori Desautels will join us in May to speak about anxiety in high-ability learners. Be sure to register at the links below so you have that spot reserved on your calendar to join us.      March 9, 2022          April 13, 2022         May 11, 2022
