ESSER Year 2 Data Collection
All local education agencies (LEAs) have received the Year 2 ESSER Data Collection Excel form. This form is due via JotForm no later than Friday, May 13. The data collection is a requirement by the United States Department of Education (USDE) in regards to ESSER fund usage.
At the time LEAs received the data collection form, also provided were updated allocation and total available amounts for ESSER I and ESSER III as it applied to Mandatory Subgrant and state education agency (SEA) Reserve funds. The updates were provided as these separate funding “accounts” are separated for data purposes by USDE. No LEA saw a reduction in total available funds as shown in the Title I App Center. However, where funds are located on the Summary Page may look different. Additionally, not all SEA Reserve funds are accounted for within the Title I App Center, such as Digital Learning or Tutoring Fellowship grants. For example, click on the picture at the top right corner to see how ABC Corp 0000 allocation amounts might have changed as shown in the App Center.
A FAQ document has been created to provide additional guidance based upon questions Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) has received. After referencing the FAQ, if your question has not been answered, please contact Frank Chiki for assistance.
Amendment Deadlines
Please remember all amendments for the 2022 Title I applications and ESSER I allocations are due by Monday, May 30. Funds for each grant must be expended by Friday, September 30.
Amendments for 2022 Title I, ESSER I, and ESSER III applications were recently opened in the Title I App Center for all LEAs to update final allocation amounts. If there was no change in your LEA's allocation amount, you may submit your amendment with no changes. However, please ensure that you have fully budgeted the minimum allocation amount. If the amount currently budgeted is within $25 of your total allocation, please budget the remaining dollars to fully allocate the funds.
All amendments should be completed in the Title I App Center.
Please contact your assigned federal grants specialist with any questions.

Non-public School Consultation Reminders
As the 2021-2022 school year ends, an important step in consultation with non-public schools includes evaluating the Title services provided. The LEA should have a structured and intentional evaluation plan to ensure that the Title services provided are effectively meeting the needs of eligible non-public school students. The evaluation of services is also a key step in modifying Title services for the upcoming school year. The summer months are an ideal time to discuss successes and challenges, while determining processes and solutions that may need to be developed to improve the partnership for the next school year.
Please review "Assessing Non-public School Services" for additional guidance on a four-step evaluation plan.
Please visit the Equitable Services Ombudsman webpage for several resources including initial consultation guidance, sample meeting agendas, and an equitable services toolkit to assist in planning for the 2022-2023 school year.
Please contact your assigned federal grants specialist with any questions.
Upcoming Technical Assistance Opportunities
The Title Grants and Support team are developing multiple avenues for LEAs to engage in additional technical assistance, including courses in Moodle, quarterly meetings, and monthly coffee chats. See below for information on the first coffee chat and be on the lookout for more information about additional technical assistance opportunities coming soon!
If you have ideas about additional technical assistance needs or ways the Title Grants and Support team can best support your LEA, please contact your assigned federal grants specialist.
May Coffee Chat
We invite you to join us for our first Title Grants and Support Coffee Chat on Wednesday, May 25 at 10:00 a.m. ET for a look at commonly found errors submitted on the pre-application and how to avoid them.
