Data Training
The IDOE released TWO new resources in 2022 that allow schools to use ILEARN-related data. One, Standards in Essential Need of Support(SENS), focuses on specific standards. The other, the Academic Impact Study, looks at each individual student who started taking ILEARN in 2019 and various subgroups. The Impact report looks at both proficiency and recovery from pre-pandemic. Both are valuable, but the time to dig in is limited. Adam McMickle (IDOE) will lead a discussion around the new Civics standards and updated 7th and 8th-grade social studies standards to assist schools in planning for implementation for the 2023-24 school year. This session geared for school leaders will assist in your planning for implementation. NOTE: Full-day sessions geared toward instructors and focused on curriculum planning and alignment will be scheduled for spring 2023.

The annual textbook caravan for the 2022-23 school year will feature resources for health and science. The event is free and open to all. Choose from Avalon Manor, Merrillville on January 19 or Swan Lake, Plymouth on January 24th.Sessions offered include: K-5/6 Science, 6-8 Science, Biology, Chemistry/Physics/AP (morning) – 6-12 Health (afternoon), Supplemental/Intervention
